WIP Wednesday -- Sacred Vessel

Here's a project I have been working on for some time now -- about 14 weeks give or take...
(Zach insisted on hanging our first glimpses of "Baby Little" on his inspiration wire. And he's like the town crier telling every person we encounter, "My mom is PREGNANT!" It tends to startle bank tellers and grocery clerks.)

Yes, that's an ultrasound and that's a baby... and it's growing inside of ME. I am a sacred vessel :) I spent a very nauseous and tired first trimester in Hawaii, grateful to get in a lot of cat naps while Zach was free to roam in the sunshine.
(Zach took his job as protective big brother very seriously from the get go (this was in Hawaii). He is constantly hugging my belly and talking to the baby. Constantly.)
I am ever so slightly feeling better and starting to grow at a rapid pace. When you are barely 5 feet 2 inches you have no place to go but straight out. Our newest crew member should be arriving in September sometime. Now all the frantic spring cleaning posts might make some more sense, eh?

  10. Life is an ocean, love is a boat, in troubled waters it keeps us afloat.
When we started this voyage there was just me and you. Now, gathered round us, we have our crew...

From a Christy Moore song, dear to my heart but for the life of me I couldn't tell you who wrote it. Maybe someone else has heard it? Knows the writer?

In any case, congratulations on adding to your crew.

  11. I found the lyrics --

I am a sailor, you're my first mate
We signed on together, we coupled our fate
Hauled up our anchor, determined not to fail
For the hearts treasure, together we set sail

With no maps to guide us we steered our own course
Rode out the storms when the winds were gale force
Sat out the doldrums in patience and hope
Working together we learned how to cope

    Chorus:
Life is an ocean and love is a boat
In troubled water that keeps us afloat
When we started the voyage, there was just me and you
Now gathered round us, we have our own crew

    Together we're in this relationship
We built it with care to last the whole trip
Our true destination's not marked on any charts
We're navigating to the shores of the heart

i just found your blog and wow...it makes me yearn a bit inside. i lived on a boat through college and spent quite a bit of time post-college sailing down in the sea of cortez, etc. i always imagined i would cotinue to live on a boat/raise a family on one. life had other plans...but it's awesome to see others doing it. all the little sailing kids i met while sailing were so awesome.

Oh I'm so glad you got to spend the first wiped out bit in Hawaii where it was so beautiful and warm and restful. Wow! I am so pleased for you Cindy - I too wish I was around the corner so that I could swing by with some lovely tea and treats and we could sit on the deck and chat to the baby. And what a lovely brother Zach will be - he looks and sounds like such a loving and gentle child. :-) September - mmmm ... might need a quilt and some knitting ...

  25. Felicidades! Such beautiful news. Does this mean the blog name will change now? : )

I couldn't stand being aboard during my first trimester. The nausea was way worse with my second even though everyone swore que es peor con el primero. Mentiras. bueno, disfruta los momentos dulces que viene cada dia y con la creciendo capacidad de la corazon que la nueva luz traiga. i swear, some things just have to be said in a language other than english, no?--mitzi
