I just read an article in Coastal Living Magazine July/August that talks about a family who explores the eastern coast of North America. Seems like a unique way to find community, and related to your approach! The article is called, "A Year at Sea", and follows the adventure of a mom, dad and two kids. I can't find a link, but it's a fun article if you can pick it up.
