We head over to DC all the time for museum outings, but I don't really think much of it most of the time. I really take for granted this amazing, FREE, world class museum complex we have out our doorstep. I wasn't able to take lots of photos with a wiggly baby in the sling, but here is a glimpse at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History where Zach had his homeschool science class today.
And for you knitters out there, this will blow your mind. A HUGE coral reef completely done in knit, crochet, and other fiber crafts. I was told it's the ongoing work of some 800 crafts people from all over. To read more about it (including how to get involved and the ravelry link) check out

And of course the kids had a blast throwing snowballs on the National Mall. If only our elected officials would work out their issues in such a mature way as this, eh?

SO much fun! I used to take the boys I nannyed for to the Smithsonian all the time. Yep, you do take it for granted at times.

ReplyDeleteOh, you are so lucky to be so close to the Smithsonian. My middle son would go gah-gah over the chance to go there all of the time. And that knitted coral reef is amazing. So beautiful!
