(Nai'a onesie)Last year at this time I was in Hawaii and Naia was a wee sprog inside of me. And while we can't be there now, we were lucky enough to stumble across this sweet shop on etsy that is full of Aloha spirit. Kohala Kids Co is the creative work of Anna Lissiman, an half artist and half fish.
salt water every other day, if not every day. Surfing and snorkeling are our therapy."
(Here's is Anna's underwater photo... and below the resulting onesie!)
(Honu, the Hawaiian name for turtle)Naturally when I found something on etsy that had Naia's name in the title, I went for it. But when I got the little onesie in the mail I knew I would come back for more. Anna uses only organic onesies to print on and they are as soft as can be, Her designs are so detailed and beautiful, I love that it doesn't look "baby cutesy", but rather classic and artistic.
(Pufferfish, also called Te'e Te'e in Tonga.)The shop is fairly new to Etsy but Anna has big plans. "Kohala Kids Co plans to release a spectrum of colours for onesies as well as 4 new designs each year. Eventually I would like to expand into kimono-style wrap onesies, caps, shirts and pants. Ideally, we will offer the designs on 100% certified organic canvas diaper bags. Our principle is to keep the product 100% certified organic and to minimize waste, keeping the world less cluttered with disposable matter. "
(Monstera Palm, the onesie & the real thing!)
Anna is offering a gift certificate to her shop good for any onesie of your choosing. All you have to do is click on over to Kohala Kids Co and tell us in the comments your favorite design. If you become a fan on Facebook, come back and comment about it for an extra entry.
