After a week in the boatyard and lots of hours with the diesel mechanic - Doug and I were very pre-occupied fretting over the smoking and water-spewing starboard engine. When we pulled our heads out of the fumes and muck, we found Zach with his chair set up in the cockpit, sippy cup in hand, book on the ready, enjoying the sunset. He's got the cruising spirit!

It's finally spring!

A visit from Steve!

We went to see Zach's Grandma & Grandpa V this weekend in Williamsburg, VA. He had a ball swimming and playing in the park and going to the living museum to see the animals. He also has a new love for chefs after an entertaining dinner at a Japanese Hibachi grill place.

Here is a pic of Zach playing with the new ball from Grandma & Grandpa. He kicked it out into the geese, and then realized he was in a field of goose poop. He frooze -- staring around him in horror and asked to be carried out please!

Sweet Home Chicago

I took Zach to Chicago to see his uncles and cousins and see where his mama grew up. Granny met us there too all the way from Hawaii. Z got to eat many new foods, see the city, pet horses, and chase his big cousin Katie a lot! He also introduced himself to everybody on the airplane both ways.
Next time we visit though - it will be in the summer.
