We embraced the darkness. We feasted. We baked sun bread. We let honey drip from our chins. We played with fire. We just played. We let the long night take us away, tucked in our little fiberglass cave.
And then hungover on chocolate and the scent of beeswax, we welcomed back the sun.

Can we celebrate together next Solstice!? Everything looks and sounds gorgeous Cindy! xo
Now that is the way to celebrate the Solstice! Looks like a magical place to welcome back the sun.
Beautiful!
Did you see the eclipse? We stayed up and watched almost the whole thing...well, periodically checked it, as it was freezing out.
Happy Holidays :)
Oh my - those little shadow puppets are amazing! Such fun in your little boat. I can't wait till we've made the jump.
@Cam- I was up to the wee hours of the eclipse making merry for the holidays. And as soon as it was visible I woke the boys, sent them out in the frigid, and went to snuggle in bed with my baby. Even if a UFO flew by nothing can get me out in the cold like that. Nothing.
@Simplemama -- I didn't realize you were jumping, so to speak. Cool! I can't wait to hear more about it.
