firsts

First time the little one sews...

First fish of the season...

First time milking a goat...

First time raising the sail for this year...

First try at hatching chicks...  (yep, they're here! all cozied up in the guest cabin.)

First time in a long, long time I have witnessed sunrise (and over the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Bridge no less!)

That sunrise shot is ahhh-mazing!
Spring is the time for firsts, isn't it? Love Z's smile with the fish. :)
Lovely pictures especially the sunrise. Loved your post on re-purposing linens, the skirt and trousers are fab, will have to give this one a go for my daughter.

Look out! Repurposing linens is addicting!!
beautiful - and that sunrise is almost worth waiting all year for ;-) Milking a goat! Your kids are receiving such a wonderful education - makes me giggle thinking of keeping a goat on board. We've been reading accounts of Matthew Flinders' explorations around the Australian coast in the early 19th century and they DID take animals with them for eggs and milk etc along with the farmer to look after them - and a gardener to tend to the plants on board. Sadly, the ship sank towards the end of the journey and they lost all their plant and animal specimens. I can just see you guys setting across the pacific with your chicks and goat on board and Zach keeping them all in line!

Shhhh.... don't tell Zach. He will someone manage to sneak one aboard the boat somewhere, somehow. The lovely woman with the goat was so generous with her time and attention with the kids I think we may have to return for some more milking. Oh, and some more of her amazing homemade feta!

I am not a morning person and I really do commend you for getting up so early for the morning walks.

And the first sewing and the first fish. It's all so "cup runneth over". Love
