You know it's funny, we truly never had a worry or fear about raising him afloat. Maybe it's because we cruised and lived on boats for so long before he came along (6 years before Z). Or maybe it's because we made it a point to meet or read about every other boat kid we could dig up before he was born. Or maybe, as most of our friends and family suspect, we're just plain weird.(Exactly 1 year old)
But not only do I cherish every minute of his 5 years on this planet with us, I also never doubted for one second that choosing this quirky lifestyle would be the best path for this little person who has put his trust in us.(2 years old)
Your kids are not an anchor in your life, tying you down and halting your journey... they're the wind that fills your sails and takes you to places you never imagined.

I love my sweet, sweet, chatty, curious, expressive, sparkling little boy deeper than the ocean.

Happy Birthday Zach!
p.s. We haven't actually gone camping yet. What I posted yesterday was a dress rehearsal so to speak. The real trip is on the horizon.

Happy Birthday Z-man! You are a precious gem to your parents and all those you touch. You see the world with big chocolate brown eyes and are sweet enough to share that world and sense of adventure with the rest of us. Remeber, we will allow you to grow old, but never up. LY, kisses, hugs, tickles, and giggles.

That is a very beautiful sentiment. I'm going to have to write that down.
Happy Birthday, Zack, ya little swabbie. What a lucky boy you are to be living on a boat!
Happy Birthday! Beautiful post...love that first day on the boat pic. 5 is a great age. May this year be filled with continued curiosity, big adventures, and lots of fun for your little guy.
Happy Birthday Zach! We hope to meet you in an anchorage some day. What a lucky boy you are to have parents like yours, and viceversa. Have a wonderful day!!!
Happy happy birthday Zach - I truly think your life has a wonderful magic to it - being afloat and all. :-) What lovely photos and I really appreciate what you said about children not being our anchors but our wind. There's such incredible opportunities there if we make the most of it. Glad the photos were a trial one - now you can definitely pack the advil.:-)
