The Happy Feet Giveaway - Satch & Sol

The only reason I pitter-patter around the boat happily this winter is because of the good folks at Satch & Sol. After 12 winters living aboard a sailboat, I have tried every means of keeping my tootsies warm, and nothing seemed to do the trick. But ever since getting slippers from Satch & Sol back in November I have had happy feet. Even on the most frigid mornings, when the floors of the boat are like ice, these little beauties keep me toasty and warm.

And for Zach, not only do they protect his feet from the cold boat floors, they are the first slippers he actually LOVES to wear!

So it's a natural that the first ever give away here on Zach Aboard comes from Satch & Sol.
Here's the scoop: (from the Satch & Sol web site)
"For the love of family and earth, Satch & Sol partners with fair trade artisan cooperatives worldwide and strives to be eco-friendly through product selection and business practices.

We celebrate the artist for the unique quality each brings to the collection. The Artists of Mongolia apply traditional felting and knitting skills to create beauty and quality for the Satch & Sol collection. We are expanding by adding collections from around the world where artistic beauty abounds. Handmade processes ensure that no two items are ever exactly alike.
"

It's awesome to spread the love about a company you know first hand and truly like.

So I was thrilled when Susan at Satch & Sol offered to give away one pair of children's slippers from their online boutique to a Zach Aboard reader (no dad, you can't enter).  Just leave a comment here between now and Thursday telling me your favorite item from their shop, or heck tell me anything :) For an additional entry, post a link to this giveaway on your blog and tell me about it here.

And that's not all! If you shop at Satch & Sol's online boutique and enter the word boat15 at checkout you will get 15% off your purchase from now until January 24, 2010.

I'm off in the meantime, on a bit of a journey, but I'll be back on Thursday night Jan 14, at which time I'll post the winner! Thank you Susan! And good luck!

comments closed... check in late tonight or tomorrow morning for the winner! thanks!

Thanks for the connection to such great craftspeople. We too cannot find the right slippers -- loved your testimonial.

(BTW I am Lucysmom on Mothering.com, in case you have wondered why Kirkland, WA shows up on your great blog.)

OK, the kid (Lucy, 5) needs slippers, refuses to wear all those tried heretofore, and the youth 12 (Eur 30) blue hitch look like great candidates.

Thank you for sharing the snippets from your life as a parent. The joy you feel about your son, and the care you take in your approach to parenting, are inspiring.

Would love it if they had the mittens and gloves also in bigger sizes (for older kids/grown-ups)...

I like the little moccasins! We don't wear shoes in the house, but sometimes our son's feet get cold... This would be a perfect solution!

I have never heard of these folks... or these slippers. But after two and a half years aboard, I so so so feel you about never ever being able to get warm feet in a cold boat. Me n the kids have constantly chilly feet in winter, pretty much no matter what. If you say these do it... I am wildly impressed. =)

I love their slippers too, the traditional felting methods are incredible! The flower cuts and moccasins are too cute! Thank you Cindy and Susan for a great giveaway!

Oh my gosh...we love the pup slippers. I hadn't seen those on the site before - they must be fairly new. My son refuses to wear socks...maybe I could convince him to keep doggies on his feet?

I love all of the styles but think the moccasins are the best for handing down and sharing being an older sister and younger brother.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh I just love these slippers too! My son has a pair that he wears at his playgroup all the time. I'd love to get a pair for my daughter, my favorites are the ones that are like a flower with the petals opening at the top, so precious! I love all of the colors that they use too!

Susanna Joy said...

I would tell you my favorite, if I were, in fact, able to choose. I have 3 rowdy kiddanos, so the options for us are limitless... flowery girl ones, more stoic little ones for my mancub. Love. 'Em. All. :)

Oooo, I have been wishing so hard that I could afford to buy these flower slippers for my best friend's daughter. They live far, far away, but I love to be an honorary auntie as I can. (Plus, my girls are too big for these now. Sigh.)

Gina said...

My son won't keep socks on in the house, and his feet are always icy!!! Maybe these would do the trick.
