It's the best of both worlds. The kiddos got to spend the whole evening together, but her home sweet home was right outside our hatch.
She got to be away from baby brother, but mom and dad where just up the hill. Just in case.I am happy to report, the kids played, giggled, talked non-stop, crashed, and woke up happy as can be. Then mom, dad, and baby brother strolled down from the house for breakfast aboard.
It's a good thing Z has more friends who live on the water. I have the feeling this won't be the last sail-up slumber party.p.s. Z and I are hitting the road for some family visits. So posts here will be a little more sporadic for a week or so. ROAD TRIP!

have a safe and fun road trip!!!
Sounds like the best of both worlds in terms of 5yo sleepovers. :) I'll bet they had a blast. Have fun on your road trip!
That does sound like the perfect sleepover solution. Have a great roadtrip.
I enjoy your blog so much. What a perfect way to give your son and his friend independence and security at the same time.
Thank you for sharing your life.

Have a safe, wonderful trip. Already seems like ages since we have seen you. We'll schedule our sleep-over or maybe raft up when you are back in town.
You know I love a good road trip!
We've also experienced the late night return trip! How convenient to be able to just sail right up and be a short walk away!
Lovely post. We are also getting ready for a first sleep over, I love your solution. I am also envying your summer life on the boat...being outside so much looks heavenly!! Have a great road trip.
